Well “innovation” means only “introducing something new” — the word has always seemed to me value-neutral. The machine gun was definitely an innovation, but not necessarily a positive one. The printing press was an important innovation, and on the whole net-positive, but there were still harmful applications like the production and distribution of the Malleus Malificarum… maybe we need a new word that is not value-neutral, like, I dunno, “benovation” or “charinovation” to indicate the kind of altermondialiste inventiveness suggested here. “Benovation,” I kinda like that. A Benovator would be a person whose innovations are beneficial, who is a benefactor as well as an innovator.
